The Everglades
On Sunday we took a trip to Shark Valley in the Everglades! We took the tram tour that takes you around the 15 mile loop and stops at an observation tower along the way.
Here is what we saw most of the tour:
And as with all bodies of water in Florida, there were plenty of gators around! Most were right on the path that people were biking and walking along! We did learn that you can guess the length of an alligator by estimating the length between his snout and his eyes...that distance in inches is equal to his length in feet!

If you look carefully at this picture you can see the huge alligator underwater! It's cut off a little because it was taken from the top of the observation tower and Chad couldn't see the gator through the camera.
We got to see a few birds along the way too (blue heron and an anhinga):
