Trek Out West - Utah

Our next stop was Moab, Utah. We stayed at a place called the Red Cliffs Lodge and the view from the place was beautiful. There are backroads you have to take to get there but the scenery makes it worth it. We were getting into town right around sunset and it was awesome. You don't get to see those kind of vibrant reds living in Florida. The next day was Monday and we were heading to Mesa Verde which is a national park that has cliff dwellings. We left fairly early in the morning and we were about half hour from the hotel when Kaitlyn got sick in the car. Lovely! She was acting fine all morning and once we cleaned her off she was ready to get back in the car. I was all for a relaxing day at the pool but got vetoed. So off to Mesa Verde. It took a while to get there but to get out and walk in these dwellings that have been there for hundreds of years of pretty amazing. Back to the hotel where we had dinner and Kaitlyn ran around non stop for almost 2 hours. Tuesday was our quick tour of Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. We got to stop and see quite a few of the sites at both the parks but definitely didn't have enough time to see it all. This is a stop we would both like to come back to see one day! After our whirlwind tour of Moab, we set off toward Yellowstone National Park (a mere 8 hour drive away)....
Views on the drive into the hotel (and what we saw from our hotel room):

Kaitlyn wanted to be carried....she eventually gave in with her pouty run
Canyonlands National Park
This is called Upheavel Dome...it's has a greenish blue color that is hard to see in the picture. They are not sure if it was caused by a meteorite crashing into Earth or by salt that eventually exploded under the pressure. Either way it is a neat sight to see:
